Hungarian Citizenship Act має general 8-year naturalisation rule, але окремо визначає, коли non-citizen вважається таким, що 'resides in Hungary' для citizenship law. Temporary protection у qualifying переліку не зазначений.

General Section 4 rule — 8 років continuous residence перед application, clean record, subsistence/accommodation, security condition та Hungarian civics/language requirement.
Section 23 визначає citizenship-law residence від registered address для осіб із permanent residence status, recognised refugee/subsidiary protection або free-movement residence right.
Beneficiary temporary protection не входить до цього переліку, тому роки TPD не можна автоматично додавати до general 8-year naturalisation clock.
Є preferential naturalisation routes, наприклад для spouse of Hungarian citizen, minor Hungarian child, recognised refugee/stateless person та ancestry-based cases; умови потрібно перевіряти окремо.
